SAT Formula Sheet — 25 Formulas, Organized by Module Reality

Who this is for: For the student who lost four minutes in Module 2 scrolling the built-in reference — and for the one who never learned what's actually on it.

Every formula the Digital SAT expects — official reference sheet items plus the algebra you must memorize — organized, with a print view.

Quick answer: The Digital SAT's built-in reference sheet covers only geometry and volume — circle, triangle, Pythagorean theorem, special right triangles, and four volume formulas. Everything else (quadratic formula, slope forms, trig, growth models) is on you. This sheet gives all 25, grouped, with hints and a one-page print view.

The Digital SAT reference sheet covers only the two “given” groups above. The quadratic formula — the most famous omission — lives in Algebra: write it from memory at the start of every practice module until it's automatic.
11 formulas are given on test day (groups marked “given”); the other 14 are on you.Nothing to upload — print and drill.

What formulas are on the SAT formula sheet?

The Digital SAT shows a reference sheet inside each Math module — but it covers only geometry and volume: circle area and circumference, triangle and rectangle area, the Pythagorean theorem, the 30-60-90 and 45-45-90 side ratios, and the four volume formulas (box, cylinder, cone, sphere). Everything the test's hardest questions run on — slope, point-slope and slope-intercept forms, the quadratic formula, percent change, SOHCAHTOA, radian conversion, the Pythagorean identity sin²θ + cos²θ = 1, exponential growth, and the vertex shortcut x = −b/2a — you're expected to carry in your head. This sheet splits the two honestly: 'given' formulas you should never waste time scrolling for, and 'memorize' formulas that decide Module 2 math scores. Five groups, 25 formulas, each with a one-line usage hint, and a print view that fits one page for the bathroom door.

Common uses

  • Ten-minute daily review during the last month before test day
  • Checking which formulas the reference sheet saves you from memorizing
  • Printing one page for offline drill (it survives the kitchen table)
  • Rebuilding speed after learning math in another curriculum

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I get a formula sheet on the SAT?
Yes — the Digital SAT provides a reference sheet inside each Math module with geometry and volume formulas (circle, triangle, rectangle, Pythagorean theorem, special right triangles, box/cylinder/cone/sphere volumes). You can also pull it up on the Bluebook app during practice. But it's deliberately thin: no algebra, no trig identities, no statistics.
What formulas should I memorize for SAT Math?
The highest-frequency memorized items: slope formula and all three line forms, the quadratic formula (and its discriminant), percent change, average = sum/n rearrangements, exponential growth A = P(1+r)^t, SOHCAHTOA, radians-to-degrees, the Pythagorean identity, and the vertex x = −b/2a shortcut. That's the gap between the reference sheet and what Module 2 actually asks.
Is this formula sheet printable?
Yes — the print view above formats all five groups on a single page. Use your browser's print dialog; nothing to sign up for and nothing to download.
Does the SAT give a formula sheet for algebra too?
No — algebra formulas are the memorize side. The reference sheet is geometry/volume only, which is exactly why this sheet separates 'given' from 'memorize': students who assume everything is provided are the ones who blank on the quadratic formula in Module 2.
Which formulas appear most on the Digital SAT?
By real test frequency: linear relationships (slope, point-slope, interpreting y = mx + b), systems of equations, the quadratic family (factoring, formula, vertex), exponential growth/decay, and right-triangle trig. Percent change and average manipulation show up across both modules. Master these seven patterns and the sheet becomes a safety net rather than a crutch.
